Driving in Switzerland and Italy

If you’re planning on driving around this part of Europe a word of caution - the Swiss are relatively nice drivers - giving you the right of way and letting pedestrians go provided they are in the crosswalks (otherwise legally you are at fault if they hit you and are abligated to pay for any damages). Driving fast is ok on the highwys (be carful in town as cars tend to stop suddenly) - not many police, but if you see a “Radar” sign with an eyeball icon it means you’ll run across a camera that will take a picture of your speeding car (I’m not sure what/if there is any leeway).
Driving in Italy is another matter. Be slightly more aggressive than you normally are and use your turn signal and your neck. Mopeds and motorcycles will creep up in your blind spot to pass you (from the wrong side of the road) if there is any opportunity.
…and if they honk at you, scream at them. Then they stop honking…
Crossing the Swiss/Italian border.
Fill er’ up!
Make sure you drive the speed limit…of the car ![]()
