Lugano Lugano is a small and very Swiss city in the south of Switzerland. je malý a velmi švýcarské město na jihu Švýcarska. Everything is close by and even I was able to map out a good part of the city while I was there. Vše je blízko, a dokonce jsem byl schopen zmapovat velkou část města, když jsem tam byl. The first thing you notice when you get out of the train station is the stunning mountain scenery and as you walk across the walkway the amazing Lake Lugano. You might as well be in Italy as any other language (other that perhaps German) will get you nowhere. Tebe mohl být také v Itálii jako kterýkoli jiný jazyk (jiné, že snad němčina) se nikam. I don't know any Italian but learned that “ciao” will get you very far. Neznám žádné italské, ale dozvěděli, že "ciao" se dostanete velmi daleko. Pokud nechcete mluvit italsky mějte se na pozoru. You won't be greated warmly – but I can't blame anyone, I should have picked up a word or two before I came. Nebudete greated vřele - ale nemohu nikoho obviňovat, měl jsem zvedl slovo nebo dva, než jsem přišel. My goal is to learn very basic tourist Italian before the new year. Mým cílem je naučit se základní turistické italské před novým rokem. You should do the same. Byste měli udělat to samé.
Ticcino is the canton that Lugano is located in (Ticcino = the Italian speaking part of Switzerland). Ticcino je kanton, který se nachází v Lugano (Ticcino = italsky mluvící části Švýcarska). 
Lots of expensive shopping – a few bars and not too many clubs. Hodně drahé nákupy - několik barů a ne příliš mnoho klubů. My sister says (and I noticed) that people in Lugano are older and the primary reason for being there (other than studying) is to shop. Moje sestra říká (a já jsem si všiml), že lidé v Luganu jsou starší a hlavním důvodem je, že (kromě studia) je obchod. Every expensive store you can think of is there (Dolce & Gabana, etc). Každý drahý obchodě si můžete myslet, je tam (Dolce & Gabana, atd.). I'm not sure how much partying the Franklin students can do – though I'm sure they'll find a way. Nejsem si jistý, jak moc párty Franklin studenti si mohou udělat - i když jsem si jistý, že najdou cestu.
