Beginning on September 1, 2007, these virtual police will walk, cycle, or drive across the screen reminding users not to view illegal sites. The Internet in China is already censored by the Great Firewall of China (is yours blocked?) and closely monitored.

Sites, forums, and the like, that the communist government finds offensive are all banned. Those traveling to China should install Tor to stay anonymous in Chinese cyberspace. Gmail users can also encrypt their emails with this Firefox plugin, and use Trillian or Meebo for encrypted instant messages.

iTunes doesn’t let you sync your iPod in more than one location. After trying a few alternatives, I was able to copy all of my music off the iPod to my computer with YamiPod – then re-sync.

Having just installed a fresh copy of Vista, I ended up having my entire digital music collection left on my iPod. YamiPod is (free) and available for Mac, Windows, and Linux machines.
