The Life Saver water bottle can filter out the dirtiest water removing dirt, chemicals, and even viruses. The bottle’s filter was designed by Michael Pritchard who was inspired after seeing the need for fresh water after the 2004 tsunami in south east Asia.
The British military has already ordered thousands of Life Savers, which run about $380.
Prices of the Life Saver should drop in the next few years a could save thousands of lives making it a small essential for travel to unlikely destinations. Until then, the iStraw does just as good of a job for less.
