Today is the last day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we shouldn’t forget that this is a global issue. Treatment of breast cancer is still highly stigmatized in many societies reducing survival rates.

Seventy percent of breast cancer cases in Saudi Arabia are not reported until the late stages, compared with 30 percent or fewer in the United States

Aside from being a conservative culture, even speaking the word ‘cancer’ is considered bad luck and in many cases, a death sentence. Breast cancer caught in the first 2 stages has an 81% survival rate. Millions of women here in the US can’t afford mammograms - help them by clicking on the Breast Cancer’s Free Mammogram program.

The Red Cross Safe and Well List can be used to notify the people you care about that you are alive in case of any disaster, not just the California wildfires.

Gilbert Arenas selected the schools he’ll be donating $100 per point to this year as he Scores For Schools - plus an additional $1,000 for schools that weren’t selected. We’ll follow the exploits of our favorite NBA philanthropist and fellow blogger this season and keep you posted.

The Wizards’ first game is tonight, against the Indiana Pacers.

Vacationers and winter-phobes are purchasing up expensive real estate located in Marrakesh’s palm groves.

??Ten years ago the Palmeraie barely existed, and the land was almost worthless,?? said Alban Pamart, owner and director of Atlas Immobilier, a Marrakesh-based real-estate agency specializing in expensive properties. But within the last several years, Marrakesh has emerged as a major style capital. ??All the Europeans who wanted a place with prestige and luxury bought in the Palmeraie,?? he said.

An acre of land in this emerging style-capital goes for anywhere between $170,000-$570,000 and construction per foot runs about $125. Even if you can’t avoid these prices, Morocco is one of the places in the world you should visit and you shouldn’t be scared to; plus your dollar will go a long way there.

The morning before your next trip and you’re not sure what you’ve forgotten. Lifehacker’s travel day checklist can help you get your things in order.

Streamline Your Pockets: Rather than emptying the contents of your pockets into the gray basket while you’re juggling your carry-on, removing your laptop, and standing there shoeless, you’ll find it much more convenient to streamline the contents of your pockets to only your non-metal essentials: Namely your boarding pass and identification.

The rest of the list is pretty straightforward and includes bringing snacks (make your own for less than $3) and surf some free wi-fi while you wait. I’d recommend bringing these small travel essentials, preparing your home before your go, and gifts if you’re a student visiting family this semester.

Some airlines give you an automatic number of miles when you sign up as an incentive. Continental gives you a minimum of 500 miles for every flight you take. Southwest gives you a travel voucher for flying 8 times in a 2-year period which isn??t that much if you travel regularly for work.

The BBC has a good crash course. Now if there were only one for cricket.

View the best flight offers, search for low fares, and sign up for email notifications on the latest specials for European travel on Flycheapo.com.

The site doesn’t have the prettiest interface although it’s a powerful search engine if you’re willing to take a moment to work your way around it. I find that using niche travel search engines (like EuRail for trains) can produce better results than generic ones such as AirFare.com.

Travel and Leisure has ranked US cities based on how hot its residents are. Miami tops the list, followed by San Diego and Charleston, South Carolina. The list is mostly the typical big cities sprinkled in with some mid-major gems like Nashville, Portland, and Minneapolis.

Interestingly enough many of the cities with the hottest hotties are also where the most single people in the United States are. If you’re already in a relationship, you can network with other couples and strut your sexiness.

Conversely, Philadelphia has the ugliest people in America.
