TravelZoo has a short list of easy ways to save the most during the upcoming holiday travel season.

• Take longer trips to save on airfare. We’ve found flights
  the Mon. and Tue. before and after can save you up to 35%
• Look for morning flights on the actual holidays. These are
  usually good values, and still get you to dinner on time.

TravelZoo also recommends using their multi-site flight Super Search similar to FareCompare and Kayak. It’s a good idea to get started soon - FareCast shows tickets are not getting cheaper anytime soon.
