There were several close contests and an upset in the Best City To Visit Travel Tournament Round of 32. Stockholm was back and forth with Washington DC all week before coming out on top the final day of voting, while David may have riled up the Zermatt fans to victory. Ho Chi Minh City also got past Berlin with a single vote to make it to the Sweet 16 round. Now it’s time to vote for your favorites – London vs. New York City, Istanbul vs. Sydney, Amsterdam vs. Rome – select which cities will make it to next week. Voting ends this Friday March 12th, 12pm US EST.

wow- so many people have already voted!! I was interested to see the results on each of the votes- I tended to pick the ‘winner’ without realizing it- only on 3 of the votes, I had voted for the one which was lagging behind.

    Thanks for the fun!

    • Anil P. says:

The votes have really taken off today haven’t they? Some of the cities have made quite the early impression…fun thing is so much can change between now and Friday :) Good luck!!

  2. I’m so transparent, since Rio was nixed. Istanbul all the way!

  3. Sofia says:

This was fun! Interesting to see what other people think, I’m surprised that Amsterdam had more votes than Rome, maybe because people in rome tend to come out a bit stuck up and ignorant – or it’s those brownies in amsterdam that are just soo tasty :P

  4. JoAnna says:

You’ve got me up against Paris this week!! How will I ever survive?

Lovin’ this Anil … it is too much fun!

  5. Sherry Ott says:

Frustrated…where is the love for Asian cities?!!!! Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Tokyo….they rock!

    • Anil P. says:

Very Euro-centric so far, if the votes hold up could be an Elite 8 of European cities. But only 10 votes right now for the Asian cities to tie things up, plenty of time!

  6. Kirsten says:

THAT was fun…and my vote was for the most popular city in the end every time. Huh. I should go play the lottery now ;-) lol

  7. Donna Hull says:

Sheesh. Almost all of my picks are underdogs.

  8. Come on NYC!!!! Remember – I’ll donate the winnings to http://bigapplegreeter.org so that more people have a friendly welcome to this wonderful town!

  9. kat says:

I’m surprised to see Dubrovnik get knocked out the first round! That’s still one of my favorites. Go Instanbul- all the way!
