Get Around Video Blocks of NCAA Games at Work

March 16, 2007 by Anil P.

Using Proxy.org those of you overseas or on travel (or stuck in the office) can watch live game streams (through the Sweet 16) here and YouTube has a page dedicated to game highlights and commentary. If your office is blocking those sites, copy and paste the links in the window at the Proxy.org homepage.

Proxy.org also works for MySpace and YouTube filters as well. In case Proxy.org is down, or you really want or need encryption use VTunnel. For instant messaging blocks don’t forget Meebo and if you use FireFox, SportsFox will give you the scores in real time.

what if vtunnel and proxy.org are blocked on my work server?
    :)

You can use Google as a free proxy service. It takes some URL hacking though, here’s an example:

    http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en|en&u=www.forbiddensite.com

Replace “www.forbiddensite.com” with the URL you are trying to access. This takes advantage of Google’s translation services and won’t work if Google.com access is restricted.

Anyone know how I can get the TV schedule for each region? How about at least my own?

I looked and looked and couldn’t find anything.

  4. Chris says:

I don’t think there is a regional schedule published. I think this is because they usually show whatever local teams are playing, but switch to other games when they are close or a big upset.

Got any ideas on how to get around the regional blackouts that CBS has for games on the net?

I’ve got an idea for a way around it, now I just gotta find a blocked out game…

Chris, I did this and it worked. Create a new login and when you register used the zip code 00001. Then you can watch all of the games.

Let me know if that doesn’t work -

  7. I find this Proxy.org quite useful. This is good for youtube and Myspace.
